Vasundhara's 40-day yatra to kick-off poll campaign

Ahead of the polls, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje will cover a distance of 6,054 km during her state-wide Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra scheduled to take off from August 4 in Rajsamand district.

Vasundhara will begin her electoral campaign by paying obeisance at the Charbhuja Nath temple where BJP's national president Amit Shah will also be present to flag off the yatra.

Vasundhara is repeating the same venue (Charbhuja temple) for the third time. Earlier, she took out two election yatras from this temple, in 2003 and 2013, while being the leader of the Opposition.

During the 40-day yatra, Vasundhara will cover 165 Assembly constituencies across the state and will cover only 27 out of 50 Assembly constituencies of the Jaipur division.

The yatra is scheduled to travel through Bharatpur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Kota and Jaipur divisions before ending in Pushkar. Moreover, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the final public event of the yatra in Pushkar.

The yatra becomes crucial for Vasundhara after BJP president Amit Shah announced that she will be the chief ministerial candidate for Rajasthan if the BJP emerges as winner.

Charbhuja temple is considered Vasundhara's lucky charm, as she won both the times after taking out a yatra from this temple.
