Last Updated 25 July 2019, 13:13 IST

Attacks on campaign vehicles of Congress and Janasena parties in different places of Andhra Pradesh allegedly by Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) activists have raised political heat in the state. While Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu stamped the opposition party as a party of lumpen elements, the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) says YS Jaganmohan Reddy is the proxy for PM Narendra Modi.

In Venkatagiri town of Nellore district activists of the YSR Congress Party under party leader, Anam Ramnarayan Reddy blocked the ‘Prateyaka Hoda Bharosa Bus Yatra’ of the Congress on Saturday. APCC Chief N Raghuveera Reddy was in the bus which is part of the Yatra at that time. The activists holding black flags raised slogans against Congress. They were arguing that Congress is trying to split the anti-establishment votes in favour of TDP.
“They are disruption our Yatra due to fear of defeat. The downfall of Jagan started with Venkatagiri,” he said. He further said that challenged YSRCP activists to block the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “In fact, all the seats in PM Modi’s Guntur meeting were filled by Jagan’s men,” Reddy said.
On late night of Saturday, several activists also belonging to YSRCP pelted stones on a “Yatra” being organized by Janasena party’s general secretary Tota Chandrasekhar near AT Agraharam of Guntur town. Few women workers of Janasena were hurt in the incident. “Ban YSRCP Rowdies” tweeted minister Nara Lokesh. “I condemn the attack of YSRCP activists on women,” he said.
Jagan encourages anarchy: Naidu
Addressing a meeting in Amaravati on Sunday, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the opposition party is trying to create unrest in the state with the help of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). “Today when the five-time Loksabha member and Congress leader Kishore Chandradev is joining TDP, I compare him with Jaganmohan Reddy, a criminal entangled in so many cases,” Naidu said.
He pointed out that one must behave with dignity in politics. Condemning the attacks on Congress and Janasena convoys by YSRCP activist he said that there is no place for violence in politics.
Meanwhile, the West Godavari district police have arrested YSRCP Media cell head K Venkatanarsimha Reddy for morphing a speech of Denduluru MLA (TDP) Chintamaneni Prabhakar Rao sparking uproar among SCs of the state. Police also arrested Kattula Ravi Kumar of the same party in connection with altering the audio in the tape and posting it on social media.
