Congress leader Rahul Gandhi led a tractor rally at Wayanad in Kerala on Monday by driving a tractor to express solidarity with the ongoing stir by farmers.
Addressing protesters, Rahul said that even as the whole world was realising the plight of the farmers in India, the BJP government at the Centre was now understanding the plight of the farmers.
He said that agriculture was the business of 'Bharat Matha'. It is the biggest business in the country in which millions of people were involved. Hence the people should force the government to revoke the three farm laws that aimed at helping a couple of industrialists to monopolise the agriculture sector.
Over a hundred tractors participated in the around five-kilometre rally from Mandad to Muttil near Kalpetta.
During his three day trip to Kerala, Rahul Gandhi is inaugurating various schemes in his constituency in Wayanad, interacting with fishermen in Kollam district and also addressing a public meeting marking the culmination of a state-wide march of Kerala Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala.
