DMK leader and Lok Sabha MP Kanimozhi said that the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections are about the DMK and the AIADMK, and no other party is a significant player.
In an interview with The Indian Express, two-time Rajya Sabha member, Kanimozhi said that her party's prospects in the elections beginning April 6 "looks good" and that people wanted the DMK back in power because of "rampant unemployment."
She also claimed that the BJP was not a "big player" but was "calling the shots" in the "proxy" AIADMK government. Kanimozhi added that the current government was at the "mercy" of the BJP government in the Centre.
On being asked if parties like Kamal Haasan's MNM, T T V Dhinakaran's ADMK, and a handful of other parties could play spoilsport to DMK's hopes, the 53-year-old disagreed. She alleged that they "might be in the field to help the ruling AIADMK" but also said that she had no proof to back this allegation.
"But more than that, this election is about the DMK and the AIADMK. I don’t think that in this election anybody else is a significant player," she told the publication.
