TTD to lay foundation for Venkateswara temple on Jan 31

The construction of Venkateswara temple in 25 acres of land in Amaravati will commence after performing “Bhoomakarshana Puja” on January 31.

Tenders were approved for Rs 27.29 crore towards the construction of Maharajagopuram, Arjitha Seva, Addala, Vahana and Ratha mandapams and pushkarini at Sri Anjaneya Swamy temple in the Sri Venkateswara Divya Kshetram coming up at Amaravati.

Speaking to media persons at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala after the board meeting on Tuesday, the EO said, the muhurtam has been fixed for the puja as per Vaikhanasa Agama between 9.10 am and 9.40 am by agama scholars. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will take part in this puja.

It was also decided to construct 384 rooms in Pilgrims Amenities Complex coming up at Alipiri at a cost of Rs 67.29 crore. The board also sanctioned Rs 15.79 crore for the second phase of installing 1,050 CCTVs in Tirumala. The board decided to make a separate queue line from Sarva Darshanam Complex to Alwar Tank Rest House at a cost of Rs 17.21 crore, and a Smart Data Centre in Tirumala for Rs 2.63 crore.
