TDP shocks YSR Cong on home turf of Kadapa

The ruling Telugu Desam Party has stunned Opposition YSR Congress by winning all three Legislative Council seats under the Local Authorities Constituencies in Kadapa, Kurnool and Nellore, for which elections were held on March 17.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has already won six seats unopposed, making a clean sweep of all the nine Council seats under Local Authorities Constituencies.

In Kadapa, TDP candidate M Ravindranath Reddy alias B.Tech Ravi, defeated Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s paternal uncle Y S Vivekananda Reddy by a margin of 34 votes despite YSRCP’s strong presence in local bodies’ constituencies.
