A principal and two teachers in Kerala were booked by the police on charges of manipulating the higher secondary examination answer sheets of students.

They allegedly wrote the correct answers in the answer books of many students and even completely replaced the answer sheets of two students, with the intention of improving the results of the school. However, the students maintained that they had no involvement in it.

A police case for impersonation and cheating was registered against K Raziya, the principal of Neeleswaram government higher secondary school at Mukkom in Kozhikode, Nishad V Muhammed, the computer science teacher and P K Faizal, the deputy chief examiner, who is a teacher with another school.

The case was registered on the basis of the complaint made by the higher secondary director and the three were likely to be arrested soon, said sources.

Two students, whose answer books were fully replaced, had denied any involvement in the act. The students and their parents objected to the instruction to reappear for examination.
