Tirupati Balaji devotees in Delhi will now have his darshan at their backyard as a replica of Sri Venkateswara will travel to the capital for a 10-day sojourn from October 30.

Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu said all the rituals performed at Tirumala will be done for the deity during its stay at a makeshift venue outside the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

Naidu credited his daughter Deepa, who manages the Swarnabharati Trust in Nellore, for persuading the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam to organise the event for the first time in the national capital.

Swarnabharati Trust and infrastructure company GMR are helping the managing committee to organise the event that involves shifting four hundred priests and other temple functionaries from the southern tip of Andhra Pradesh to Delhi for “Sri Venkateswara Vibhavotsavams – 2015”.
