West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced on Friday that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) will contest elections in Assam, Tripura, Odisha, and Jharkhand. She also instructed senior TMC leaders to strengthen the party organisation in those states.
The Chief Minister was addressing an extended core committee meeting of TMC in Kolkata.
“ We will contest elections in Assam, Tripura, Odisha, and Jharkhand. Several people from Jharkhand have contacted us. Despite such large mineral deposits, there is no development in Jharkhand. Only TMC can usher in development in Jharkhand,” said Banerjee.
She accused BJP of “doing whatever they want” with institutions like the CBI and RBI.
“ I think they (BJP) are history changer, name changer, note changer but not a game changer,” Banerjee.
