TMC minister likens CPM to snake

A Trinamool Congress leader on Friday compared the CPM with a snake besides branding Union Minister for Railways Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury a “murderer”.

Addressing at rally at Birati in North 24 Parganas, Food Minister Jyotipriya Mullick said: “The CPM is like a snake. What you do when a snake enters your house? Do the same when you see a CPM worker. Never talk, eat or mix with such people”.

Taking a jibe at former chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, the Trinamool leader said that “Brand Buddha has been banned”. “These days he addresses people only in places like Barasat, Baranagar, etc because in other places women are waiting with brooms to chase him away,” Mullick said.

Dubbing Union Minister of State for Railways Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury a “murderer”, Mullick launched a scathing attack on Congress leaders including Deepa Das Munshi and Abu Hasem Khan Choudhury.

Mallick has made bizarre prescriptions earlier as well. He not only asked his party workers to resist marrying CPM workers but also advised them not to see their rivals’ faces as it would bring bad luck.

“While going out never look at their (CPM supporters) faces for it would bring bad luck to you. You may even end up getting crushed under the wheels,” Mullick has been saying at several party rallies.

Reacting to Mullcik’s comments, Chowdhury told Deccan Herald : “They (the Trinamool) are in power. (Chief Minister) Mamata Banerjee has even constituted a commission to probe an incident which happened over 40 years back. Why doesn’t she set up a commission to probe whether I am a murderer?”

Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Abu Hasem Khan Choudhury said he has informed the party high command. “I have got in touch with the party high command and asked permission so that we can initiate legal action against him”.
The CPM, however, described Mullick’s statement as ‘hysterical’ and ‘provocative’.

A couple of days back Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was drawn into controversy when she asked people whether she should go and beat the Prime Minister if her demands are not addressed.
