Last Updated 28 December 2012, 19:53 IST

A series of agitations and bandhs are lined up again in Andhra Pradesh   as the Telangana Rashtra Samiti agitated over the outcome of Thursday’s meeting on Telangana gave a bandh call for Saturday.

Contending that there was no clarity in the statements made by the TDP, Congress and the YSRC at the meet, TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao called upon all the pro-Telangana in Congress (MLAs and MPs) to join the TRS movement.

As if waiting for the words of Chandrasekhar Rao, the students of Osmania and Kakatiya universities, joint action committee of political and civil organisations for Telangana announced their solidarity for Saturday’s bandh in ten Telangana districts.

“We will intensify the agitation from tomorrow (Saturday) and announce a more militant road map,” said Prof Kodandaram chairman of T JAC.

News of misfire of Delhi meet had already sent shock waves among traders and industry associations which had commenced hoisting of metal screens on glass facades of multi complexes in the state capital. Schools have declared holidays anticipating trouble.

Meanwhile, the pro-Telangana Congress MPs and MLAs have thanked the TDP for its favourable stand on Telangana while opposing the bandh call given by the TRS.
Telangana Congress MP Madhu Yaski said the TDP stand would help in resolving the Telangana issue at the earliest.
