TRS chief on fast, houses of Congress leaders attacked

Rao, who remained at a government-run hospital in Khammam town, is  running high temperature and is not taking food, his family members said.

KCR, as the TRS chief is popularly known, has again appealed to the  government and the state human rights commission that he should be shifted to a hospital either in Hyderabad or Khammam.

His son and legislator K. Tarakarama Rao told reporters in Khammam, about 200 km from here, that the doctors forcibly administered saline drip late Tuesday night.
He alleged that his father faced threat to his life in Khammam and demanded that he be moved out of the hospital.

"After sending out all of us, the doctors put saline drip. This is a  conspiracy by the government to malign him among Telangana people but he is continuing his fast. He is not taking any food," said Tarakarama Rao.
A court has directed Khammam district collector Usharani to submit a  report on KCR's health.

A physician deputed on the direction from the state human right commission  left the hospital Wednesday morning protesting that the hospital  authorities and police were ignoring his advise.

Stating that the hospital lacked facilities to treat him, S.S. Gopinath said he advised the authorities to shift KCR to a hospital in Hyderabad.
KCR, arrested Sunday and sent to judicial custody for 14 days ahead of his "fast unto death", launched the hunger strike in the Khammam sub-jail. He was shifted to the hospital Monday.

Tension prevailed in Khammam and other parts of the region as TRS workers set fire to the office-cum-residence of Congress leader and former union minister Renuka Chowdary. The door and windows of the house were damaged.
Renuka Chowdary is away in Delhi. A letter left behind by the attackers said their action was to teach her a lesson for opposing the demand for a separate Telangana.
Protestors also set afire the office-cum-residence of Congress leader and former legislator Jalgam Venkata Rao in Khammam. Venkata Rao is the son of former chief minister Vengala Rao.

TRS workers also set ablaze two buses, a government office, a hospital in Karimnagar district and damaged about six buses in other parts of the region. They also stoned a shop in Hyderabad.
Students in Osmania University here are continuing their protest. They  changed the names of some institutes around the campus replacing the word Andhra with Telangana.
