Uma Bharti wants to meet Malegaon blast accused Sadhvi Pragya

Last Updated 24 February 2011, 12:47 IST

Bharti's lawyer, Sudhakar Dwivedi, has written to Pragya's lawyer Bal Desai in this regard.
"Kindly make arrangements as per legal procedure for my client's meeting with your client," advocate Dwivedi stated in the letter, released to the media here.

When Sadhvi Pragya, who is the prime accused in the case, was being treated for spinal problems at Ayurveda Seva Sangh Hospital in Nashik last year, Bharti, a former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, had reportedly visited her.

After Pragya Singh was arrested in connection with Malegaon blast, Bharti, in October 2008, had said that Pragya had been a disciple of Maharaj Avdesh Anand and there was no way in which she could be involved in any violent activity.

She had alleged that it was a conspiracy to defame Hindutva forces, and Sadhvi would be found innocent eventually.
