Video shows militant escapes gunfight site in Kashmir

A purported video of a militant escaping from a gunfight site in Kuthipora village of central Kashmir’s Budgam district has gone viral on social networking sites.

The 1: 26-minute amateur video shows how civilians help a militant escape from the rubble of a house which was badly damaged by explosives.

Top Lashkar-e-Toiba commander Naveed Jatt was killed along with an associate in the gunfight that broke out early Wednesday in the gunfight.

The video recorded in the aftermath of the gunfight shows a militant armed with an assault rifle being whisked away by youth, who had gathered at the house. The video has since gone viral on social media and other messaging platforms.

The authenticity of the video couldn’t be independently authenticated.
