Build the Ram temple at Ayodhya or declare that it was a jumla, Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray said on Thursday while lashing out at the ruling BJP dispensation.

"Build the Ram temple at Ayodhya or declare that the promise made before 2014 elections was a jumla," Thackeray said targetting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah while addressing the annual Dasshera rally at the historic Shivaji Park at Dadar.

He said that it was the dream of late Balasaheb Thackeray to see that a grand Ram temple comes up and the Shiv Sena was committed to that cause. "If you cannot build the Ram temple, tell me...my Shiv Sainiks will build it," he said amidst thunderous applause. Thackeray also announced that he would visit Ayodhya on 25 November.

"From Ayodhya, I would ask the Prime Minister the same question...When the Ram temple will be built," he said.

He also lashed out at Modi for not visiting Ayodhya even once in the last four-and-a-half years."You visit China, Russia, several other countries, but why not Ayodhya...it is in the same state from where you were elected," he said taking a jibe at Modi.

We are sad that the Ram temple has not been built, the Sena chief said, adding: "Hindus and Hindutva have not died, it is alive....please do not play with the emotions of the common man."

Thackeray also praised RSS chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat for taking up the Ram temple issue earlier in the day during his Vijaya Dashami address in Nagpur. "We are on the same page on this," he said.

Uddhav fires at Modi-Shah yet again

Warning that the wave of 2014 has changed, Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday wanted to know why the government was not able to tackle India's economic situation.

"Dollar rates are going up, fuel prices are moving northwards, inflation is not being controlled...Why?...Even when the 11th avatar of Lord Vishnu is with you," Thackeray said targetting Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the customary annual Dasshera rally at the Shivaji Park in Dadar.

Recently, a Maharashtra BJP leader has described Modi as the 11th incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

"People of the country want to know, where are the 'acche din'...they are asking us," he said, adding that people of India have not forgotten the jumlas - hitting out at Modi and BJP President Amit Shah.

"The winds of 2014 has changed now," he said in the run-up to the crucial 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
