The SUV that was parked off the ultra-luxury Mumbai home of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani was stolen a few days ago while the gelatine sticks were manufactured in a Nagpur facility.

Meanwhile, a massive manhunt has been launched to track down the suspects who had parked the Scorpio near Antilia, the Carmichael Road residence of the Ambani family.

The Gamdevi police station has formally lodged an FIR while the Crime Branch-CID has activated its network to track down the culprits.

“An FIR has been registered and investigations were in progress,” said deputy commissioner of police (operations) S Chaitanya, the Mumbai Police spokesperson said.

On the letter or message that the police have recovered, he said, “I cannot comment....that is part of the investigations.”

The letter was written in English with several grammatical and spelling mistakes and was addressed to Mukesh and Neeta Ambani threatening the richest couple of India.

The 20-odd gelatin sticks were manufactured by Nagpur-based Solar Industries.

The Mumbai Police has already contacted the company and have sought details from them, however, individual sticks are not barcoded but the packets – so it is a gigantic task for the cops to find out where they came from.

The Mumbai Police are also securing CCTV footage of the possible route of the car.

A team of police personnel also visited the car parking owned by the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation in that area.

Meanwhile, the Crime Intelligence Unit spoke to the owner of the Scorpio, who informed that his car was stolen a few days ago and he had lodged a police complaint.
