In a significant step to provide relief to common man, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that the government is working to bring 99% goods below 18 per cent slab.
"Before GST, registered enterprises only numbered 65 lakh, which has now risen by 55 lakh.
Today, the GST system has been established to a large extent & we are working towards a position where 99% things can be brought at the sub-18% slab," Modi said addressing a summit of a TV news channel.
