Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has allegedly received a threat message from the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang with the unidentified person claiming that he would be eliminated like the way Punjabi rapper and Congress leader Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead.

Calling Raut as a “Hindu virodhi”, the text message read: “Delhi me mil tu ak 47 se uda dunga. Moosewala type. Lawrence ke or se msg he soch ke… Salman aur tu fix. tyatil karke rakhna.”

Bollywood script writer Salim Khan and his actor-producer son Salman Khan are on the radar of Lawrance Bishnoi gang.

Raut spoke to Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar after he received the text message.

Raut’s brother and MLA Sunil Raut lodged a complaint with the Vikhroli police station.

Raut, a close aide of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, alleged that Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is not taking the issue seriously.

"I have informed the police about the threat call, but do not think any action would be taken. I received the call last night. Whenever I inform the government and home minister about such threats they mock me saying its a stunt,” he said.

Fadnavis said that a suspect has been caught.

The suspect from Pune has apparently send the message under the influence of alcohol.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Purushottam Karad, however, said that the suspect has not been linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in the Council Ambadas Danve of Shiv Sena (UBT) said that the present state government had removed Raut's security. “The threats must be taken seriously,” he said.
