A team of Kerala police probing possible links of missing youth to Islamic State has arrested a woman suspected to have helped the youth leave the country.

The suspect, Yasmin Ahmed (29), was arrested from Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on Monday and remanded in judicial custody for two weeks by the First Class Magistrate Court in Hosadurga.

Bihar native
Yasmin is a native of Bihar and was planning to fly to Kabul along with her four-year-old child, said police.

She was a close associate of Abdul Rashid, a youth from Kasaragod, who is suspected to be the link in recruiting many youth to the terror outfit. It is suspected that Yasmin is the second wife of Abdul Rashid.

In fact, Yasmin was staying in Kasaragod and Kozhikode for several months. Later, she is suspected to have left for Bengaluru and arranged for the travel documents of the missing youth.

The police have seized a mobile phone and laptop from Yasmin.
