Youth harass Muslim girl for refusing to wear BJP cap

A Muslim girl, a law student, was allegedly molested during a college trip by some youths of her own college after she refused to wear the BJP cap.

Two students have been rusticated from the college and the police have launched an investigation into the incident that occurred a couple of days back.

The girl, who was a student at a law college in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut town, about 450 kilometres from here, had gone on a trip with her classmates and four faculty members.

On way back home in a bus, two students, who were drunk, asked the girl to wear a BJP cap and dance with them and her refusal they "misbehaved" with her.

"I was the only Muslim student out of the 55 students... We had 4 faculty members out of which 2 were male members... the students got drunk and started doing shitty things and they made me their target," the victim said in a post on her Twitter handle.

"They bought some stuff like caps of BJP etc etc and they were forcing me to wear that... when I refused they started misbehaving with me...they tried to touch me in an indecent manner and all that was happening in a bus with 2 male teachers, who were ignoring everything," she said.

"They started to pull my hand and were forcing me to dance with them, when I refused they started making indecent comments... they ruined my whole bus journey," the girl said.

She added that the youths misbehaved with her friends, when they opposed them.

"They tried to scare me but I feel I am more strong and this is what BJP has done to us... So much of hatred for Muslims out there... and now it has reached such extent that students are harassing and molesting others," she said.
