Youths molest girl, upload video

Barely a few days after the molestation of a girl in the Jaunpur district in the state by multiple men, yet another girl was reportedly groped and molested by around half-a-dozen youths in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi district, about 300 km from here.

The youths not only molested the minor but also filmed their act and uploaded the video on social networking sites.

While the incident occurred on Monday, it came to light only on Tuesday after the video went viral.

Acting swiftly, the police have arrested one of the culprits and have launched a hunt to nab the others.

The police said the 16-year-old girl, who was accompanied by a friend, was on her way to give food to her mother who was working in the fields when the youths attacked them.

The youths dragged the minor to the nearby forested area where they tried to rape her.

The video shows the girl pleading with the youths to let her go. "The youths fled fearing that the people working in nearby fields would rush after I shouted for help," the victim said.

One of the alleged culprits was arrested and efforts were on to nab the others, the police said.

Barely a few days ago, a girl was molested by five youths in Jaunpur district. A passer-by recorded her ordeal and uploaded it on social media.

A few months back, a girl was molested on a road in Rampur district by about half a dozen youths, some as young as 12.
