JOIN USThe Manipal Academy of Higher Education will host a three-day higher education meet on ‘Harmonisation and Internationalisation of Higher Education in India’ from July 12 to 14.
Speakers, researchers, academics and vice-chancellors from India and Europe will be present.
The meet is the final event of the ‘Jean Monnet Project on EU Higher Education Policy: The Bologna Process and Internationalization of Indian Universities’.
“Manipal has been a torchbearer of internationalisation right since its inception. This initiative of bringing Indian universities together to debate and discuss harmonisation policies will go a long way in securing a stronger position for Indian universities in a global context,” Dr H Vinod Bhat, vice-chancellor, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, said.
Convener Dr Neeta Inamdar said, “Internationalisation is a negotiation between the binaries of going local and going global at the same time. Exploring and sharing native approaches to knowledge broaden the scope for international cooperation. The event aims to discuss internationalisation as practiced in Europe and India and seeks to create new synergies in the same.”
Key issues
The Manipal Higher Education Meet will focus on key issues such as student and staff mobility, uniformity of credit systems, opportunities and challenges for internationalization between European and Indian universities.
The three-day meet includes first, an Intensive Workshop on Engaging with European Universities: Towards a Deeper Understanding of the Bologna Process and EHEA; second, a Conference on India-EU Dialogue on Internationalization of Higher Education; and concludes with a Vice Chancellors’ Conclave focusing on A Policy Dialogue on Harmonization of Indian Higher Education System on July 14.
