Rahul runs to Italy when there is crisis: Yogi

Last Updated 14 December 2018, 19:44 IST

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Tuesday that whenever the country faces any crisis or any controversy comes up, Rahul leaves for his maternal home in Italy.

Addressing a public rally after the filing of nomination papers by six candidates standing from constituencies in the Rajnandgaon district, Adityanath said Rahul does not remember his country or Chhattisgarh.

"But when we (BJP) face any such crisis, we will go to Chhattisgarh, as it is the maternal home of Lord Ram. It provides spirituality and peace as a massive temple for Ram has come up in Raipur," he said.

Talking about Jawaharlal Nehru, he said, "Once Nehru had said that he is an accidental Hindu, but his fourth generation is going to temple on a regular basis."

Talking about the Ram Temple issue, he said, "The Congress has made all efforts, even approaching the Supreme Court, to ensure the issue is not decided before 2019. The Congress has always stood against it and did not want to find a solution. It had divided the country in name of caste, religion and language, with its appeasement policy. It has only divided the society, resulting in terrorism, anarchy and the other ills the country now faces."

He said the people of Chhattisgarh have a greater responsibility towards Lord Ram as it is his maternal state.

The Congress sat on the National Citizen Register (NCR), but it was the BJP that ensured that it is implemented, Adityanath said, while also criticising the Congress for the crisis on the International Border and said it was the Modi government that made a move with respect to the Dokhlam stand-off.

The BJP, under the leadership of Raman Singh, has been in power for three terms thanks to the support of the people, he said, seeking their blessings for a fourth term.

Adityanath claimed the state became the first in the country to provide food security to all, livelihood guarantee and open schools in tribal areas, among its other projects, which placed the BIMARU state on path of development.

He said after becoming the chief minister, he asked his team to visit Chhattisgarh to study its procurement model, which he said Uttar Pradesh is following now.

Adityanath urged his party workers to not consider the enemy weak and to not stop till the fort is won. Till then, don't stop even for a second, he urged.
