Regional languages film fest from Sept 21

The St Aloysius College and Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy will organise a three-day regional languages film festival, at St Aloysius College between September 21 and 23.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, College Principal Rev Fr Dr Praveen Martis said that award winning movies in Tulu, Konkani, Kodava and Beary languages will be screened. Eight movies will be screened during three day festival. A dialogue with the director of the movie will be held after the screening of each movie. Academy Chairman and Director Nagathihalli Chandrashekar will speak on appreciating the movies during each intervals.

Convener Dr Na Damodar Shetty gave the schedule of the movies to be screened. September 21 — “Oriyardori Asal” (Tulu, Director Vijaykumar Kodialbail, 9.30 am), Beary (Beary language, Director Suviran, 12 noon) and “Sarkari Hiriya Prarthamika Shaale, Kasargod (Kannada, Director Rishab Shetty).

On September 22— “Chali Polilu” (Tulu, Director Veerendra Shetty, 9.30 am), “Ujwadu, (Konkani Director Kasargod Chinna, 12 noon), Talang Neer (Kodava, Director Gopi Peenya, 2.30 pm).

On September 23— “Bangara Patler” (Tulu, Director Richard Castellino 9.30 am), “Konjavaram” (Director Umesh Nayak, 12 noon) and “Paddayi” (Tulu, Abhaya Simha, 5 pm).

Minister for Urban Development and Housing U T Khader will inaugurate the festival. Director Rishab Shetty and Shivadhwaj will be the chief guests.
