Rs 100 crore released to Kodagu: MLA

MLA K G Bopaiah said that the state government has released Rs 100 crore to Kodagu, towards various development works in the district.

The allocation of the fund is as follows: Education Department has been provided Rs 75 lakh. Maintenance of Napoklu PU College building - Rs 30 lakh, maintenance of Madikeri Primary School and High School - Rs 20 lakh, maintenance of Virjapet P U College - Rs 15 lakh and Construction of Suntikoppa P U College -
Rs 10 lakh.

Health Department has been allocated Rs 5.25 crore. Infrastructure facilities at the district hospital - 25 lakh and MRI scanning machine - Rs 5 crore.

The Public Works Department has been provided with Rs 61 crore. Maintenance of Makutta Highway - Rs 6 crore, upgrading of the state highway and MDR Road - Rs 25 crore and Rs 30 crore respectively.

Rs 12 crore has been released to Panchayat Raj Department towards the development of roads in Baradi, Tavuru, Mudi and in various other places.

Rs 6 crore has been released towards the additional work on Virajpet Mini Vidhana Soudha, Rs 5 crore has been released towards the second phase of work of Madikeri Mini Vidhana Soudha and Rs 5 crore for the construction of protection wall near the DC’s complex in Madikeri.

Also, Rs 4.94 crore has been released towards Madikeri Town Hall and Rs 10 lakh for various other development works.
