Sadhvi Prachi spews venom again

Last Updated 02 August 2015, 05:17 IST

Controversial saffron leader Sadhvi Prachi has once again stirred up a hornet’s nest.
The firebrand leader, who had courted controversy by her ‘inciting remarks’, said on Wednesday that any terrorist attack on Amarnath pilgrims would be given a befitting reply.

“Haj pilgrims will have to face the consequences if there is any terror attack on pilgrims going to Amarnath,” she said at a function in Muzaffarnagar town.

She said there were apprehensions that pilgrims bound for Amarnath cave could come under terrorist attack. “We will give a befitting reply in case of a terror attack this time,” she said.

“Eent ka jawab pathar se diya jayega (it will be tit for tat),” she added.
She decried subsidy on Haj pilgrimage and demanded the same for Hindu pilgrims.

“It is shameful that Haj pilgrims receive subsidies while Hindu pilgrims are taxed,” she said.

UP BJP leaders declined to comment on the remarks but Samajwadi Party and Congress slammed the comments and demanded action against her. “Sadhvi Prachi is not a member of the BJP,” a senior BJP leader said here.

“Action should be taken against Sadhvi Prachi. She has a habit of making such remarks,” an SP leader said. She had also earlier made controversial statements.

She had asked Hindu women to have four kids and not “30-40 puppies”. She had also remarked that Bollywood actor Salman Khan got bail because he was a Muslim.
