Forest Department officials have seized sandalwood worth Rs 1 lakh which was being illegally felled and transported from Attur Reserve Forest in Northern Kodagu.
The motorbike used by the accused was also confiscated by the officials on Monday.
The accused, Madhu (33) from Hadre Heruru village and Ravindra alias Anni (32) ran from the spot leaving behind the motorbike and the sandalwood.
About 20kg sandalwood has been seized. A case has been registered under the Forest Act.
