Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara has called upon Bangalore Central University (BCU) to sign more and more Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with foreign varsities.
Inaugurating the first BCU Distinguished Annual Nobel Lecture Series on Friday, he said: “MoUs are with foreign universities are much-needed for a newly created institution like the BCU. Student and faculty exchange programmes should be happening, which will benefit both the universities.”
Parameshwara also called for establishing a university exclusively for science and research. “Bangalore University was trifurcated recently. It’s high time we dedicated a university to science and research. Bengaluru is facing lots of problems, so it makes sense to have our own university to find the solutions instead of going to foreign institutions.”
