JOIN USThere is a lot of confusion with regard to the loan waiver scheme announced by the state government. The confusion should be sorted out at the earliest, said Kodava Thak Jananga Okkuta district President Korakuttira Sara Changappa.
Speaking to reporters, he said Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will be in the district for two days from Thursday and that he should announce a special package for the district.
“Several farmers have paid the loan promptly. The government did not make things clear on loan waiver for coffee growers who had borrowed loans from the nationalised banks. Many lives have been lost in the district due to elephant menace. The government should find a permanent solution to the menace. The compensation for the loss of lives in elephant and tiger attack should be increased. A special grant should be announced to Kodagu district which is reeling under series of problems,” he said.
