JOIN USNokia 4.2 Android One launched in India: Specs, price
After days of teasing, HMD Global Oy officially launched the new Nokia 4.2 Android One series phone in New Delhi on May 7.
Nokia 4.2 made its global debut at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019, Barcelona in late February and now it is finally hit stores in India for Rs 10,990.
Nokia 4.2 flaunts HD+ display and comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, dual 13MP+ 2MP cameras on the back, an 8MP selfie shooter with face unlock feature and a 3,000mAh battery, which is more than enough to keep the phone running for a whole day under mixed usage.
Furthermore, it boasts a biometric fingerprint sensor at the back and is certified by the Android Enterprise Recommended program.
Since it is a Google-affiliated Android One series phone, Nokia 4.2 will get monthly security patch for three years and two major software update (Android Q later this year and Android R in 2020). Also, it boasts dedicated Google Assistant button, which the user can trigger to get a function performed or fetch information on the Internet by voice or by keyword search on the screen.
Nokia 4.2 will be available for purchase exclusively on the Nokia India store for one week starting Tuesday. In the following week starting from May 14 consumers can buy Nokia 4.2 at Croma, Reliance, Sangeetha, Poorvika, Big C, and MyG. It will be available pan-India across top mobile retail outlets and Nokia.com starting May 21.
Prospective Nokia 4.2 buyers can claim Rs 500 discount by using 'LAUNCHOFFER' coupon code during the checking out on Nokia store and is valid till June 10. And HDFC debit or credit card users are entitled to get additional 10-percent off on the device.
Vodafone Idea subscribers can avail Rs 2,500 instant cashback via 50 vouchers of Rs 50 each. These coupons can be redeemed on recharge of Rs 199 and above.
Nokia 4.2 vs competition
The new budget offering from the Finnish company comes with decent hardware for its asking price. Nokia 4.2 will be up against popular Xiaomi Redmi Y3, Honor 10 Lite, Asus Zenfone Max M2 and Redmi 7, among others.
