Hi Shubhanshu uncle!
.
Hearty congratulations that you served as a Mission Pilot for Axiom Mission 4 to the ISS and returned safely to Earth.
.
I’m sure you did a lot of hard work to be shortlisted in 2019 and enjoyed it too.
.
I’m always fascinated by the skies and space especially the International Space Station. What an adventure! 20 days in space, 322 orbits, 1.39 crore kilometers. Amazing!
.
I have seen your pictures in ISS along with your co-pilots. The view of the Earth must have been beautiful. You have inspired me to dream of space. I know it is very tough for girls, but many women have gone to space. The first one being Valentina Tereshkova from Russia in 1963 followed by Kalpana Chawla and Sunita Williams. I wish to meet you and collect a lot of information about space travel.
.
But uncle, can you tell me how you experience day and night in space? Or can you see day and night of earth from space? How do you feel?
.
While in ISS you did a lot of experiments. So I wish to know about them.
.
I’m waiting to meet you when you visit Bengaluru, so that I can talk to you.
.
All the best from me and my parents.
.
Good luck
.
Shravya K Praveen, 9
Bengaluru, Karnataka
.
------------------------------------------------------
.
Dear Shubhanshu Shukla Sir,
.
Namaste! To write a letter to an astronaut of our own country fills me with immense joy and pride!
.
For me and for a lot of other children like me with the same interest in science and space, you are an inspiration. I was thrilled when I read that you were selected for the Gaganyaan mission! I can only think of how exciting it must be to train for such an important mission while having on the space suit. It’s like you are living in a science fiction book!
.
Your courage, dedication, and hard work are really inspiring.
.
I have so many questions: How does the Earth look from outer space? Is it quiet in space? What does it feel like to drift in space without gravity?
.
Also, I would love to understand your routine in space. Did you miss cooking meals at home? When all things appear to revolve around you, how did you sleep? Most importantly, what did it feel like to be representing 1.4 billion Indians in space?
.
Thank you, sir, for glorifying India and proving the strength of persistence. Students such as I are shown that the sky is not the limit by individuals like you. I shall never cease to look up to you and eagerly watch your path!
.
I wish that your training and future missions proceed well. Please keep on inspiring us.
.
With warm regards and lots of respect,
.
Anvarth Bhat A, 13
Mangaluru, Karnataka
.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
.
Hi Mr Shukla!
.
Let me first congratulate you on reaching the ISS.
.
Did you ever feel scared during the takeoff or on reaching the station? I am amazed that you are so brave to do this being the first Indian to reach the ISS and second one to travel to space. I am truly inspired by you and your life story. Isn’t it great that your family and wife are your greatest cheerleaders? I am thankful to them too as without them you couldn’t have realised your dreams.
.
In our school, we have formed an Astronaut Shukla club to encourage more students to learn about space and how to contribute to space travel in future. Any inputs from you would be helpful.
.
Yours affectionately,
.
Ganashree B M, 15
Bengaluru, Karnataka
