<p>Former badminton player PG Chengappa, 64, passed away here on Wednesday morning following kidney-related problems.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Chengappa, who represented India for six years between 1976 and 1982, helped Karnataka win the Rahimtoola Cup (men’s national team championship) in 1977 as well as in 1978. <br /><br />Survived by a wife and a son, Chengappa was the men’s double champion with Parho Gangul in 1980 and the mixed doubles champion with Uma Moorthy in 1977 and Radhika Bose the following year. <br /><br />His funeral will be held in Coorg on Thursday.<br /><br />Chengappa had been suffering with kidney-related illness for the last three years.</p>
