<p>In tune with head coach Anil Kumble’s proposals, the BCCI convened a meeting of stakeholders here on Sunday to lay a roadmap for Indian cricket.<br /><br /></p>.<p>During his interview for the top job, Kumble had made a presentation before the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and V V S Laxman. He had stressed on bringing in synergy between all major cricketing entities in the country – the senior national team, India A and Under-19 teams and National Cricket Academy - to ensure a steady feeder system in place for the senior side. <br /><br />Sunday’s meeting was attended by Kumble, Test captain Virat Kohli, limited-overs skipper M S Dhoni, India A and U-19 head coach Rahul Dravid, senior and junior selection panel chairmen Sandeep Patil and Venkatesh Prasad, National Cricket Academy (NCA) batting and bowling coaches W V Raman and Narendra Hirwani, Patrick Farhat (Indian team physio), Shankar Basu (Indian team trainer), Andrew Leipus (Physio, NCA) and M V Sridhar, general manager (cricket operations), BCCI. Raman and Hirwani represented NCA in the absence of director Dilip Vengsarkar, currently in London.<br /><br />“Issues ranging from the domestic cricket set-up, India-A tours, injury management, workload of the players and strengthening the bench strength of Indian cricket were discussed to synchronise the efforts of everyone working for the betterment of Indian cricket,” a release from BCCI stated.<br /><br />Kumble, who had impressed the CAC with his meticulously-planned roadmap for Indian cricket, said the meeting was a fruitful exercise. “Sitting here, we all have one intention and agenda - to align our actions to maximise the potential of Indian cricket. For that, we all need to work as one unit,” the coach said.<br />A meeting at this juncture was perhaps held for two reasons. <br /><br />Firstly, a majority of those who attended the meeting were already in Bengaluru. Secondly, the Test team is scheduled to fly out to the Caribbean on Wednesday morning from Mumbai, and by the time senior team returns, the India A team would have left for Australia. <br /><br />“The idea was to bring all the stakeholders on the same page as we draw the path for the upcoming season of Indian cricket,” said BCCI president Anurag Thakur. “Based on the discussions and recommendations, BCCI will plan the future. These kind of brainstorming sessions will be a regular feature to streamline our efforts to take Indian cricket to new heights,” Thakur said. <br /><br /><br /></p>
