IPL 2025 playoffs | RCB win toss, opt to bowl first against PBKS in Qualifier 1

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the toss against the Punjab Kings and opted to field first in Qualifier 1 of the 2025 Indian Premier League playoffs at the New PCA Stadium in Mullanpur on Thursday.

PBKS arrive at a home ground for them on the back of a fantastic chase against the might of the Mumbai Indians' bowlers, which helped them finish on the top spot in the league phase.

RCB, meanwhile, entered the top 2, thanks to a monumental effort by stand-in skipper Jitesh Sharma, who led his team to a historic chase of 228 against the Lucknow Super Giants, and helped them reach the second spot on the table.

The winner of this tie will head to the finals, while the other gets a second shot at it through Qualifier 2, where they will play the winner of the Eliminator between the Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians.
