IPL 2026 | Not once, but twice: From CSK, PBKS to politicians and fans celebrate RCB's title triumph

As Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lifted their second consecutive IPL title on May 31, 2026, social media was flooded with congratulatory messages from political leaders, rival franchises and their fans.

The defending champions' victory over Gujarat Titans sparked celebrations far beyond Bengaluru, with many calling it one of the most dominant title runs in recent IPL history. Rajat Patidar, the RCB captain successfully led the team to win back-to-back, earning praises from fans.

Karnataka CM-designate D K Shivakumar hailed the team for their historic win. He congratulated the franchise, and said Bengaluru had "risen again as champions" and praised the team for showing the grit and composure of true champions. Later, he also expressed disappointment over the final not being held in Bengaluru, saying that "an injustice had been done to RCB fans."

Congress leader and former CM Siddaramaiah also joined the celebrations, saying that "our RCB has once again emerged as the IPL champion" and praising the team's performances throughout the tournament.

He described the side's campaign as one that left rival teams "utterly speechless" and urged fans to celebrate responsibly. Karnataka minister Priyank Kharge also congratulated the franchise, calling it a remarkable achievement to win back-to-back IPL trophies.

Messages also poured in from the cricket fraternity. The legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar also took to X, congratulating the team. "RCB met that challenge impressively this season. A well-deserved achievement!", he posted.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK), one of RCB's fiercest rivals, also posted a congratulatory message on social media, applauding RCB for becoming back-to-back IPL champions.

"Winning back to back is always a special feeling. Congrats and welcome to the club," the CSK wrote.

The loudest celebrations came from Bengaluru. Fans revived the iconic "Ee Sala Cup Namde" slogan, sharing victory memes and tribute videos across X and Instagram. The star player Virat Kohli was seen wearing a special T-shirt carrying the message, "One felt nice, we did it twice," which quickly went viral online.

Among the most viral moments were videos of Kohli celebrating the win with his wife Anushka Sharma. In another viral video, Kohli was also seen giving his historic pads to the fans in the stadium stand.

Even as RCB basked in glory, many fans and cricket pages praised Gujarat Titans for their impressive campaign, with social media users acknowledging the runners-up for reaching yet another IPL final.

Not just RCB, but CSK was also seen celebrating the IPL season. In a video, Dwayne Bravo was seen dancing on the field.
