Just hitting a few balls and getting out in the nets won’t help in the longer run. I count my runs. I practice how I play the game. I set the field and then try to play,” said Wadhera during a virtual media interaction on Thursday. </p>.<p>Take in enough of these purpose-oriented training sessions and it is clear that the 24-year-old treats each practice with unquenchable thirst and a clear goal in mind.</p>.<p>“I love playing under tough situations and I train for them. People who perform under those situations are the ones who play for India,” he added. </p>.<p>The Punjab batter has made valuable contributions in the middle-order and the numbers speak for themselves – 189 runs, averaging 37.80 and striking at 146.51. </p>.<p>Talking about his campaign so far, Wadhera stressed on understanding his own potential, backing his ability and helping his team win more matches. </p>.<p>“I don’t know if this would be a breakthrough campaign personally. As they say, it's not about being good, it's about knowing that you are good. I want to win matches for Punjab. And this season, I wanted to be even more consistent,” he added. </p>.<p>In the end, it all adds up to an ideal scenario and possibly offering a chance to shine on the biggest stage, something that he has always yearned for.</p>
