When it comes to cricket, Indian fans are the most noticeable. Not only because they are unabashedly the loudest but also because of different costumes, that come in various bright colours, they wear.

While the majority of the fans on Sunday at the near-full MCG came clad in India’s colours, blue, there were pockets of supporters who wore traditional attires peculiar to the places they come from in India. One such group came from Karnataka with the iconic Mysore Petas adorning their heads.

They were the cynosure even in the sea of humanity and many Indians were jostling to take selfies with them.

“There are many of us from our company (V-Guard) here from different parts of the world but we 23 of us from Karnataka wanted to show a touch of our land and this (wearing Peta) was the best way to do it,” said MC Uthappa, who is also the president of the Karnataka State Billiards Association.
