<div>Saidappa Myageri of Bagalkot emerged winner in the men’s section to bag a fine double at the Deccan Athletic Club’s KA Nettakallappa memorial road races, sponsored by Deccan Herald and Prajavani, here on Sunday. <br /><br />Saidappa, who had clinched gold in the first leg of the men’s 12km race in Chamarajanagar, clocked 39:03.20 to finish first in the second and final leg of the races. <br /><br />Bengaluru’s Kanakappa S Donni (39:22.99) and Alva’s Moodbidri’s CP Shiju (41:16.52), settled for second and third spots. Saidappa took the lead after seven kilometres and remained in front till the finish line. <br /><br />DYES Davangere’s Akshatha A bagged the top spot on podium in the women’s 6km race. <br /><br />Akshatha, who settled for silver in the first leg last week in Chamrajanagar, clinched the gold in 23:11.45 seconds, ahead of KS Shalini of Alva’s Moodbidri (23:53.93) and Suma (24:26.4) of NITTE Education Trust, Karkala bagged silver and bronze respectively. <br /><br />Akshatha had earlier bagged a silver in the under-20 South Zone 5000 metre challenge. <br /><br />Results: Men: 12km: Saidappa Myageri (Bagalkot) 39:03.1, 1; Kanakappa S Donni (Bengaluru) 39:22.99, 2; CP Shiju (Alva’s Moodbidri) 41:16.52, 3.
