When I slowly started doing well and got 100 wickets, I set myself a target of 200 wickets, then 300. When we won the Ranji Trophy in Hyderabad (2013-14 season) I completed 300 wickets. In another couple of seasons I have finished another milestone so I’m very happy about it,” added Vinay, the only fast bowler from the State to take 300 or more wickets in Ranji Trophy.

Karnataka had a great chance of winning a third encounter inside three days when they dismissed Rajasthan for 148 after having posted 374. Vinay, however, decided against enforcing the follow-on. Asked the reason behind his decision, Vinay said he wanted some rest time for both him and R Arvind before they could take a crack at Rajasthan again.
