10 H1N1 cases detected in Shivamogga

The district has witnessed 10 H1N1 positive cases in a span of three to four days. A man died reportedly due to H1N1 in Thirthahalli taluk.

Throat swab samples of 15 suspected patients in Thirthahalli taluk have been sent to KMC hospital, Manipal, Udupi.

The principal of Morarji Desai residential school near Thirthahalli has been directed to declare holiday for some days as two students have tested positive for H1N1.

District surveillance officer Shankarapppa told DH that the officials have been directed to be on high alert and treat all patients with fever with utmost care. “There is no need to panic and the situation is under control. The expensive tablets are being supplied even to those admitted to private hospitals,” he said.
