JOIN USTwo persons including an elderly woman were burnt alive after the vehicle they were travelling in crashed into a electricity pole near Jalibera in Mudhol taluk on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Eravva Ganiger (70) and Annakka Ganiger (58), both residents of Mudhol. The accident occurred while they were returning from a wedding. There were more than 20 passengers in the multi-utility vehicle they were travelling.
The driver of MUV, in his attempt to overtake another vehicle crashed into an electricity pole by the side of the road. The vehicle caught fire due to sparks from the electricity line, killing two on the spot. Eleven people injured in the accident have been admitted to the taluk hospital in Mudhol. Lokapur police have registered a case.
