A couple and their daughter from Kerala were killed on the spot when their car collided head on with an SUV on Bangalore-Nilgiri National Highway near Bendagalli, Gundlupet taluk in the district Wednesday afternoon.
Rajiv (48), wife Asha (40) and their daughter Arathi (16) died when their car rammed the four-wheeler from Gundlupet.
The injured, Kaleem and other eight passengers in the four-wheeler were admitted to a private hospital in Mysore.
Traffic came to a halt for over two hours till the fire personnel arrived at the spot and extricated the bodies from the mangled remains of the vehicles.
Sub-Inspector Basavanaik and Circle Inspector Channesh visited the spot and registered a case.
