3 kids of Bengaluru family meet watery grave

Four persons including including three children of a family drowned in a reservoir in Chikkaballapur on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as Sabha (12), Sadat (7) and Huriya (8). They were all residents of Neelasandra in Bengaluru. A group of 12 persons including the above three children had come to Nandi Hills by a vehicle. By noon, the tourists came to Srinivasa Sagar reservoir for meals.

The children ventured into the waters and soon started drowning. Arif (26), the driver of the tourist vehicle rushed to their help and he too met a watery grave, police said.

Upon being informed, the personnel of the fire and emergency services rushed to the spot and with the help of local fishermen, the bodies were retrieved by evening. They were handed over
to the family after the postmortem at the government hospital in Gauribidanur, the police added.
