The prisoners, facing various cases of theft and attempt to murder, had been lodged in the Mysore Prison and admitted to the K R Hospital for some health problem.
One of the prisoners pretended to be unconscious around 7.30 PM and when the sentry went close to him to enquire about his health, two others who were hiding behind the door, overpowered and attacked him before all the three escaped.The injured sentry was undergoing treatment in the same hospital.A search was on for the escaped prisoners.
