More than 40 people took ill after consuming contaminated food at Keralli thanda in Shirahatti taluk in the district. The victims complained of diarrhoea and vomiting after partaking in a feast in the village.
They are undergoing treatment at the taluk health centre and hospitals in Mundaragi and Gadag.
