6 of a family perish in Pandavapura bus mishap

Six of a family including three children perished in the accident that claimed 30 lives near Karaganamaradi in the taluk on Saturday.

Six members of the family of D A Nagaraju of Damarahalli were on their way to Vadesamudra to hear “Shanidevara Kathe.” But, the fate had its own design for them. Nagaraju’s wife Manjula (54), granddaughter (daughter’s daughter) Anusha (17), son’s daughter Preksha (2), brother’s daughter Radha (30), uncle’s daughter Kamala (60) all lost their lives in the accident.

The kin of the victims were inconsolable at the accident spot. Eight people, including two men, three women, two school boys and a five year old girl of Vadesamudra died in the mishap.

A school friend of Pavithra, of Vadesamudra, with tears rolling on her cheeks, said, she asked Pavithra to spend some time with her in the school, but, she did not listen and boarded the bus. “Pavithra would have been alive, if I had forced her to stay back,” she said.
