Adventure sports at Dasara

Thrill-seeking Mysoreans and tourists can look forward to some adventurous times during Dasara sports this year.

General Thimmaiah National Academy of Adventure (GETHNAA) which conducts adventure activities including terrestrial and water sports has decided to introduce parasailing this Dasara.

M R Manjunatha, Coordinator, GETHNAA, said that though the Academy was awaiting clearance from airport authorities, preparations for parasailing had begun. The activity was supposed to be introduced last Dasara itself, but it was cancelled due to non-availability of permission from the airport authorities. 

Water sports has been arranged at two places this year. While activities will be conducted at Varuna lake as usual, the Academy will be introducing activities in the KRS backwaters near Chandravana Ashram at Undawadi, Mysore district, for the first time.

Apart from rafting, kayaking, jet ski, banana rides; zip line, river crossing, ladder climbing, low rope course, burma bridge crossing, commando walk and other vehicular rallies too have been organised by GETHNAA.
