Belgaum villages declared cholera-hit

DC J Ravishankar on Tuesday declared the villages cholera-hit, said an official release. The disease has spread following consumption of contaminated water, sources here said. Residents of these villages have been asked to drink boiled water, to maintain sanitation and avoid fast foods from food joints as precautionary measures. Sale of meat in the open has also been banned in the affected villages. People have been asked not to keep eatables open and keep their surroundings clean. Fairs and other public functions too have been banned.Health Department has been directed to constitute emergency medical teams for all the affected villages.
