Anil Menasinakai, the realtor who had unsuccessfully contested as a BJP candidate from Gadag Assembly constituency, has reportedly lost Rs 2.87 crore kept in his friend’s house at 3rd Block in Rajajinagar.

Saroja Prabhu, sister of Anil’s friend V J Hariprasad, filed a complaint with the Rajajinagar police. She said in the complaint that Anil had given Rs 2.87 crore on April 19, 2018, to keep it with them.

“After the election on May 21, he came and asked for the money, but when we opened the almirah, the money was missing,” Saroja said.

She said their relative Veena had visited them twice during this time. Saroja suspects Veena and her associates Nagaraj, Manju and Babu may have stolen the money, and demanded that they be interrogated. Police said the almirah was not forcefully opened, someone known to the family may have stolen the money. They are trying to find out why the family filed a complaint three months after they came to know that money was missing from the almirah.
