State BJP President B S Yeddyurappa exuded confidence that the party nominee from Shimoga Lok Sabha constituency B Y Raghavendra would emerge victorious by a margin of 1.5 lakh votes.

Speaking to media persons, here on Tuesday, after casting his vote with his family members in the town, he said BJP would win 22 Lok Sabha seats out of 28 in the state. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and former prime minister Deve Gowda are fearing defeat. There will be dissidence between Congress and JD(S)after the announcement of Lok Sabha election results. This would make a negative impact on the coalition government. He also made it clear that the party would not carry out Operation Lotus.

He also alleged that the coalition government has failed to give good governance to people. Former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, the Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Public Works Minister H D Revanna and others camped in the district and attempted to misuse their power to win the elections through underhand tactics. But their efforts would not make any impact on voters. He is confident that BJP would retain Shimoga seat.
